The Ghost of IL Collegio – The Sighting: An old house now known as the “Towler Institute” , was originally known as “IL Collegio”, nestled in the hills of the Garfagnana valley in Northern Italy. This is where the ghost was sighted by my good self one late evening alone upstairs. Everyone else was eating in the dining room on the basement floor. Out of the corner of my eye, I "saw" something float across the doorway. I was somewhat alarmed, but, could not find any sign of someone being upstairs with me. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up that night! I rushed back downstairs and was told by the owners (at that time, David Westby & Leonie Whitton), that I had been in the company of the local ghost , a nun who, many centuries ago, worshipped in the small church connected to the IL Collegio building, This inspired me so much that, the next morning, sitting on the grass in front of the vineyards just behind IL Collegio, I whistled some musical ideas into a handheld cassette recorder. These ideas would eventually become the classical piece on the Preacherman CD, the Ghost of IL Collegio. People have commented that they can hear the nun in the music.

Kilmarnock Academy - My old school: This site was created and is managed by Neil McIlvanney, an English teacher at the Academy who was also the recording engineer on the Preacherman CD. Neil is a good friend and an excellent writer musician who I have known for a long time.
